Talented bassoon player Kaden YIM Ho-yan is taking part in the Young Artist Program of the Rome Chamber Music Festival (RCMF) from 23 to 30 June 2022.
Dedicated to nurturing new talent, every year the RCMF invites 20 overseas students from across the globe to participate in the Program, during which they perform alongside prominent musicians. HKETO, Brussels has supported this prestigious Festival and the participation of a young Hong Kong talent in the RCMF's Young Artist Program for several years.
Kaden started learning bassoon at age 11. He studied at the Hong Kong Baptist University under Mr Kam Shui, former principal bassoon of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, then at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA).
Kaden actively participates in orchestral ensembles and chamber music. In 2019, his chamber group was awarded first prize in Thailand International Wind Symphony Competition. His woodwind quintet group performed in Macau 2019 and participated the Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) digital concert hall series in 2021.
Kaden Yim is currently a master student in HKAPA, studying under Mr Timothy Ting-yuen Chan, principal bassoon of Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. He participates in Young Pro Platform of the Orchestra Academy Hong Kong season 2021/2022.
The location for the RCMF's Young Artist Program 2022 edition is the magnificent Teatro Argentina in Rome's historic city centre. Kaden will be performing Igor Stravinsky's Concerto in E-flat, 'Dumbarton Oaks'; in concert on 28 June 2022.
He will also perform at the Gala Reception hosted by HKETO, Brussels in the Belgian capital on 30 June to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
