The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Brussels (HKETO, Brussels) is supporting the participation of Hong Kong films in the Salento International Film Festival (SIFF), being held from 6 – 11 September 2022 in Bisceglie, in the Apulia region of southern Italy.
The Festival is presenting present a special featuring Andrew Lau and Alan Mak's famous Infernal Affairs detective trilogy (2002-2003) and the documentary Finding Bliss: Fire and Ice (2021) by Kim Chan and Dee Lam.
This is the eighth year that HKETO, Brussels has supported the participation of Hong Kong films at the SIFF.
Addressing the audience before the screening of 'Infernal Affairs'; on 8 September, the Deputy Representative of HKETO, Brussels, Mr Henry Tsoi, said Hong Kong has been fostering its role as a major arts centre in Asia and a hub for cultural exchanges between China and the rest of the world. Mr Tsoi added that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government will continue to support the Hong Kong film industry and its talents.
Hong Kong and the Apulia region enjoy strong links, and the best of the Salento International Film Festival has been screened in Hong Kong for nine years, most recently in October 2021.
