The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Brussels (HKETO, Brussels) held a business seminar in Milan, Italy, on 16 November, followed by a networking reception, in co-operation with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK) to promote opportunities in the Hong Kong health and medical sector to Italian entrepreneurs.
This was the second event organised by HKETO, Brussels in Europe, riding on the Asia Summit on Global Health staged in Hong Kong on 10-11 November. A similar business seminar was held in Madrid, Spain, on 15 November.
The Deputy Representative of HKETO, Brussels, Mr Henry Tsoi, outlined Hong Kong's policy priorities in respect of the health and medical sector as unveiled in the Chief Executive's annual Policy Address, noting that technology would play an important role. He said that Hong Kong, already the world's leading fundraising hub for biotech companies, is emerging as a thriving destination for healthtech firms, thanks to its well-developed start-up and scale-up ecosystem.
