The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Brussels (HKETO, Brussels) promoted the business opportunities in Hong Kong for Irish companies at the seminar "Hong Kong - Transform your Business in 2023" in Dublin on Tuesday 17 January 2023.
Speaking at the seminar, Acting Special Representative for Hong Kong Economic and Trade Affairs to the European Union, Ms Grace Li, outlined Hong Kong's latest business environment. She highlighted that most COVID-19-related health measures had been lifted, and that Hong Kong was open and welcoming business people and tourists.
Ms Li introduced Hong Kong's strengths in financial services, logistics, innovation and technology, and encouraged Irish enterprises to make use of professional services in Hong Kong and expand their businesses into the Asian markets. She also added, 'in order to attract enterprises and trawl for talents, the Government has put in place facilitation measures, making it easier for enterprises and talents from around the world to settle in Hong Kong';.
The business seminar, followed by a networking luncheon, was organised by HKETO, Brussels and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, with the support of the Ireland Hong Kong Business Forum and the Dublin Chamber of Commerce.
Other speakers were Mr Silas Chu, Regional Director, Europe, Central Asia & Israel of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council; Mr Fernando de la Cal Gonzales, Deputy Head Investment Promotion, InvestHK, HKETO, Brussels; Mr David Morissey, Global Head of Client Solutions, Waystone, and in a pre-recorded message, Mr David Costello, Consul General of Ireland in Hong Kong.
