Chinese New Year reception in The Hague

The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Brussels (HKETO, Brussels) and the Netherlands Hong Kong Business Association (NHKBA) hosted a reception to celebrate the start of the Year of the Rabbit at Sociëteit de Witte in The Hague on 25 January 2023.

Speeches were delivered by Special Representative for Hong Kong Economic and Trade Affairs to the European Union (acting), Miss Grace Li; and Chairman of the NHKBA, Mr Hans Poulis, with an introduction by Manager of the NHKBA Secretariat, Mr George Ammerlaan.

Guests were entertained by a performance by a brass quintet composed of:

• Abigail ROWLAND, a native of Hong Kong and trumpet player based in the Netherlands;
• Ho-chi SO, a composer and multimedia artist based in The Netherlands and Hong Kong;
• Ryan LAM, a horn player from Hong Kong who obtained his master diploma from the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag in 2022;
• Frankie, Cheuk Nam KO, a Hong Kong trombonist who obtained his master diploma from the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag; and
• Aaron SMALL, an American trombonist currently based in The Hague.
