The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Brussels (HKETO, Brussels), in collaboration with the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA), proudly supported the screening of two acclaimed Hong Kong films at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFFF), held in Brussels, Belgium from April 8 to 20, 2025.
The featured films included "Customs Frontline" directed by Herman Yau and "Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In" by Soi Cheang, showcasing the strength and diversity of Hong Kong's film industry on the international stage.
On April 9, HKETO, Brussels hosted a special reception for the Hong Kong Film Night, which included the screening of "Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In". During the event, Ms Shirley Yung, Special Representative for Hong Kong Economic and Trade Affairs to the European Union, addressed guests and highlighted Hong Kong's dynamic role as a global hub for film production and talent. She also emphasized the Hong Kong SAR Government's continued support for international collaboration in the film sector.
Adding to the celebration, congratulations are in order for director Soi Cheang, whose action-packed martial arts thriller "Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In" won the festival's top honour—the prestigious Golden Raven award. The film tells the gripping story of Chan Lok-kwan, a refugee from mainland China who stumbles into the infamous Kowloon Walled City and is forced to fight for survival in its brutal underground rings.
